The JROTC program consists of many different teams that compete against each other across the nation.
The Duluth NJROTC Program is composed of many of these teams, and each one has an excellent history at Duluth.
These teams allow an opportunity for cadets to plan, execute, and cooperate together in competitions across Area 9.

Color Guard consists of four cadets that present the United States and Navy Flags at a number of different events such as ceremonies, parades, and games. Cadets that are a part of Color Guard are required to be experienced in drill and be sharp and squared away cadets.

The Armed Exhibition Drill Team takes basic Armed Drill and incorporates new and more complicated movements while utilizing a drill rifle. Armed Exhibition focuses on training cadets for spinning and throwing rifles in new and creative ways while also taking a lot of determination and dedication.

Unarmed Exhibition is a drill team formed around basic drill while incorporating new and more complicated movements. Unarmed Ex creates a routine with basic drill movements, claps, stomps, and many other movements. A creative and unique way of combing basic drill with more action.

The Armed Basic Team teaches the basics of handling a drill rifle. Incorporating a rifle into basic drill movements, in unison as a platoon.

The Unarmed Basic team has the sharpest cadets to perform basic drill movements such as left face, right face, obliques, flanks, and more. Moving together as a platoon including 12 cadets, and a guidon. It is a great opportunity to get more involved in the unit and drill.

PT stands for (Physical Training). This is a required team that must consist of at least (8) males and (8) females. The PT team travels with the Drill teams to compete at the Drill competitions in the 16x100 relay race, and pushups and sit-ups events.

Air Rifle Chief: c/SN Savannah Greene
The Air Rifle Team consists of two teams, the Varsity Team and Junior Varsity Team. The teams shoot Sporter and Precision Rifles onto targets down range with extreme accuracy. The team competes against other units in postals and competitions across Area 12. The Air Rifle Team is for any cadet who desires to become a precise marksman.

The Academic Team focuses on the knowledge of the Navy and the US as a whole. Forming in teams of four, the team can compete at Brain Brawls, a Jeopardy-styled event competing with three other teams at a time, and travels with the drill team to take a paper test in the Academic portion.

The Drone Team is a highly competitive and cooperative team of competent and highly trained aviators. This team emphasizes cooperation with everyone in it to achieve the best results possible by coming together as one big group. The team practices and compete by flying drones through small obstacles, relay racing, positioned landing, and blind flying all while trying to do it as fast and flexibly as possible.

The Orienteering Team is a dynamic and competitive group within the NJROTC unit, composed of skilled and dedicated cadets. This team focuses on developing navigational proficiency, physical endurance, and strategic thinking through challenging outdoor activities. Emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and the ability to perform under pressure, cadets participate in competitions and training exercises that include timed cross-country courses, precision navigation tasks, and orienteering challenges.
